Sunday morning Bible class is currently studying How Do We Read the Bible. Wednesday evening Bible class is in Revelation.
Please pick up a communion pack when coming into the auditorium if you will be joining with the Lord’s Supper.
If you bring cookies or treats Sunday morning, please label any likely allergens (usually peanuts or nuts) and show them to Dorothy BEFORE putting them out.
The Hampton Ave. church 5705 W. Hampton Ave. is planning a VBS July 21-25 at 6:00 pm.
Southside is planning a Men’s Sheepshead and Game Night, Friday, July 25, 2025, 6pm, in the fellowship hall. Come to play Sheepshead or bring your favorite game. If possible, bring a favorite snack or beverage to share. Contact Brad Stanger or Wayne Alexander with any questions.
Special Events
Club 55 is sponsoring a Summer Cookout for everyone at the building planned for Saturday August 9 from 11 am to 3 pm. Hamburgers, Brats, Hot Dogs and Corn of the Cob and Lawn Games are to be provided. Please signup to bring Chips, a Salad or Dessert to share and bring your own Drinks, Lawn Chairs, and Shade. Our next joint bilingual worship service is planned for Sunday August 10, 2025 with a potluck meal following.
WCYC 2025 camp dates: Intermediate July 13-26; Junior July 27-August 2; Family August 2-6. Scholarships are available for those needing financial help to attend – contact Brad Stanger.
Regular Events
“Color More Worry Less” is planned Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. Please see Christine Saunders for details.
Mid-week study at the building, Wednesday, 7 pm. A Zoom virtual meeting is also set up.
A time of prayer is planned for the second Tuesday of each month at the building, 7:00 p.m., and after morning worship on the first Sunday of each month.
Opportunities
Toni Bully reports a powerful week with foster children at the Royal Family Kids camp. She is hoping to also work with the older foster kids in August but will need $300 to do so. Please see Brad Stanger if you wish to help.
A single elderly lady has requested help finding a reasonably priced apartment. See Rex Butts if you have knowledge of one
Additional help is needed for the periodic Red Cross Blood Drives for things like checking people in. See Wayne Alexander if you are interested.
A Red Cross blood drive at Southside is planned for Friday August 22 from noon to 5. Browse to redcrossblood.org or call 800-733-2767 to make an appointment.
There is a sign-up sheet on the “Miscellaneous” bulletin board for mowing and trimming dates at the building. Mower and tools are available at the building. See Otto Mageland. 414-336-1007 for details.
There is a sign-up sheet on the Club 55 bulletin board for those interested in packing Stock Boxes for the Hunger Task Force. A specific date is not yet selected but we need to find out how many are available on a weekday.
If you have printer cartridges to recycle, a box has been placed where you can put them and support Schultz Lewis Child and Family Services at the same time. Funds are also being raised from “Box Top$ for Education” products when purchased and you scan your receipt with your smart phone using the Box Tops mobile app.
