What to Expect
Southside Church is made up of people in all different stages of their spiritual walks; people that have been following Christ their whole lives, all the way to people who are just beginning to discover who Jesus is. If you are searching and have questions, we want to help you answer those questions.
What is worship service like?
Acapella singing, prayer, scripture reading, and a sermon are all a part of our worship service. The focal point of our service is communing with one another for the Lord’s Supper, which we have every Sunday.
What should I bring?
First and foremost, bring a heart willing to learn more about God. In addition, if you own a Bible, you are encouraged to bring it so that you can take notes. If you do not own a Bible, not to worry! We provide them for congregational use and scripture is often shown on the screen up front. If you do not own a Bible but would like to, talk to one of the people you see up front during the service and we will provide one for you.
Is there something for my children?
Yes! We have Bible classes for infants through high school age at 9:00 a.m. each Sunday. We also have a Children’s worship, for ages 3 years to 3rd grade during our morning worship service. Children are released before the sermon to attend their worship.
What should I wear?
Some people in the congregation like to dress up for church. Some do not. If you do not have “church clothes,” do not worry. All are welcome, in any attire!
What are bible classes like?
Bible classes are offered before service on Sunday mornings. There are usually 1-3 adult Bible classes offered and Bible classes for the children according to age group. Adult classes change topic every quarter.
We also have Bible classes throughout the week for all ages. Refer to our Events Calendar or the What We Offer section for more information. You can also Contact Us to ask direct questions and get details.
