Please pick up a communion pack when coming into the auditorium if you will be joining with the Lord’s Supper.

Sunday morning Class and Worship is now held in-person as well as live-streamed.  You are welcome to join us!  Masks are optional everywhere except in the fellowship room during worship time.  Of course, if you are ill or have had recent contact with someone who is ill, please stay home.  There is no evening worship at this time.

The Christian Workers’ Meeting is planned for the third Tuesday of each month, 9:30 a.m. October through May with a Zoom video link.  The planned subject is “Wolves in Sheeps Clothing” from the sermon on the mount.

A singing practice is being planned for March 26 after worship with a brown-bag lunch time (bring your own) to follow.

Special Events

The ladies are invited to shower Melissa Segovia Gómez (from our Southside Spanish family) with Christian love, Sunday April 16, 2023 12:30-2:30 at Southside.  Come for lunch, share good wishes and a bit of spiritual wisdom with the bride, her family and friends.  RSVP by Easter Sunday, April 9th to Lisa Bane 414-416-6578.

Southside is planning to host a Life Line Screening, Monday, April 17, 2023 from 9 am – 4 pm in the fellowship room.  This is a health check for problems that may not show up during a standard physical.  Registration is required (844-591-7160).

The annual Mother-Daughter Banquet is planned for Saturday May 6, 2023.  Please see Sarah Borges if you would like to help.

Keith Lancaster of the Praise and Harmony recordings is planning to be here Wednesday June 7, 7 p.m. for a song study class.  All area church members are invited.

Fireside matinee outing to Scrooge the Musical is being planned for Saturday, December 9, 2023, arrive 10:30 am.  A facilitator is needed to organize this.  Contact Sandie Copass if you are interested.

Club 55 needs volunteers to coordinate activities in June, August, October and December.  Please see Billie Barnes or Scot Cerka if you would like to help.

A Red Cross blood drive is planned at Southside for Friday April 28 from noon to 5 p.m.   Call 800-733-2767 or visit RedCrossBlood.org to make an appointment.

The Churches of Christ Disaster Response Team, (9285 S. State Route 202, Tipp City, Ohio 45371) is responding to the flooding in Kentucky.  Help is needed.

If you have printer cartridges to recycle, a box has been placed where you can put them and support Schultz Lewis Child and Family Services at the same time.  Funds are also being raised from “Box Top$ for Education” products when purchased and you scan your receipt with your smart phone using the Box Tops mobile app.

Regular Events

Marie Coffey invites those with a Facebook account to join a Virtual Bible study on Tuesdays at 7 pm.  Send a Facebook friend request to Marie and message that you want to join.

The Thursday Morning Ladies’ Bible Class meets at 10 am in the fellowship hall, continuing with the subject Women of the Bible.  Please see Peggy Koch or Allison Morrill for details.  You are also able to join via Zoom meeting. The link to join is sent out Wednesday night.

Mid-week study at the building, Wednesday, 7 pm, is following the Video Series by John Cooper called “Beyond Reasonable Doubt”.  A Zoom virtual meeting is also set up.

The First Tuesday Men’s Fellowship and Study Group is planned for the first Tuesday of each month (Sept.-June), 6:30 pm, at the building with food.  Dan Giombi has details. Next meeting is April 4.

A time of prayer is planned for the second Tuesday of each month at the building, 7:00 p.m., and after morning worship on the first Sunday of each month. Next meeting is April 11, 2023.

Information

Ken and Troy are looking into setting up an Endowment Fund for Southside based on member suggestions.  Please let them know if you have any comments.

The BibleProject has an aid for reading the Bible through in a year called One Story that Leads to Jesus.  It includes animated videos to help understand the design and flow of the Bible.  It can be accessed at:  http://bible.com/r/5nF

There’s a special group of people here at Southside that are ages 55 and older, called Club 55.  They hold fellowship events, things for other age groups, and service projects that reach out to Milwaukee and beyond.  See the Club 55 bulletin board for more information, or contact Scot Cerka at (630) 631-4618 for more information.
