1 Tim. 4:1-6
Some time ago, C. S. Lewis pointed out two errors of our race about devils. “One is to disbelieve in their existence. The other is to believe, and to feel an excessive and unhealthy interest in them. They themselves are equally pleased by both errors and hail a materialist or a magician with the same delight” (Screwtape Letters).
1 Tim. 4:1-6 begins by contrasting the Holy Spirit and His truth with the deception of evils spirits (demons) who are behind destructive teachings that attempt to pull one from the true faith (see 1 Tim. 3:16).
In this lesson, we’ll see how Paul exposes deceitful doctrine in order to ensure we stay grounded in sound teaching.
