Our dear brother in Christ, Juan Santana, has gone home to be with the Lord.
Southside will host a memorial service Saturday August 21
Visitation is from 3 to 5 pm and the service is at 5.

Our guest speaker this morning is Jeff Valodine.

Sunday morning Class and Worship is now held in person as well as live-streamed.  You are welcome to join us!  At Southside, we will allow 100% capacity without mask requirements in the auditorium but suggest you continue to follow CDC recommendations in regards to vaccinated and unvaccinated people.  If you wish to remain masked and distanced from others, the fellowship room is set up to allow this.  Please do not enter the fellowship room without a mask.  Of course, if you are ill or have had recent contact with someone who is ill, please stay home.  There is no evening worship at this time.

Opportunity

A Bike/Walk-A-Thon fundraiser for WCYC is being planned for Saturday August 28 on the White River Trail.  Pledges and participants are needed.  Contact Jim Coehoorn (coehoornj@yahoo.com or 262-215-5462) for details.
Linda Stanger (in a wheelchair) and Evan (pushing) are planning a one-mile course and need sponsors.

Special Events

Summer Fridays are movie night at the building starting at 5:30 pm.  Please see Jeff Valodine for details.

The WCYC board is planning a special tribute to Leonard Ditsworth at the annual meeting and is looking for stories and photos.  Wayne Alexander is collecting these.

The annual Give Away Day is planned for Saturday October 2.  Jettie Carr and Deann Butterfield are organizing.

Sunday October 17 after worship, Club 55 is planning to host a Sweetest Day soup and sandwich luncheon for all ages.  Please contact Sandie Copass or Linda Stanger for details.  Club 55 is also requesting suggestions for a Christmas activity.

Southside will host the next American Red Cross Blood Drive on Thursday, Oct 14, 12 pm – 5 pm.

The Fireside Theatre has decided to postpone the performance of Holiday Inn a year.  We are still holding seats and reservations for December 11, 2021.  Please contact Sandie Copass to discuss.

WCYC camping dates: Family Camp August 8 – 11; Busqueda August 11 – 15; Bike-a-thon August 28; Youth Rally September 10 – 12; Work Day September 11.

Regular Events

Wednesday night Bible class at the building – 7 pm. A Study in the book of Psalms.  (Also available as a Zoom meeting)

Second Tuesday Hour of  Prayer meeting – September 14 at 7 pm

The Christian Workers’ Meeting is planned for the third Tuesday of each month, 9:30 a.m. October through May. – Next meeting –  July 20.

First Tuesday Men’s Fellowship and Bible Study group  will take a break for the months of July and August. Resumes September 7th.

Prayer Meeting for 15 minutes: first Sunday of month  in the Fellowship Room 5 minutes after worship. – September 5

Seats and reservations are being held for the show at the Fireside Theatre for December 11, 2021.  Please contact Sandie Copass to discuss.

Christine Saunders is looking for volunteers to send cards for one month each year for the Caring Ministry.  Contact Christine at scsaunders@att.net or (414) 534- 3412.

If you have printer cartridges to recycle, a box has been placed where you can put them and support Schultz Lewis Child and Family Services at the same time.  Funds are also being raised from “Box Top$ for Education” products when purchased and you scan your receipt with your smart phone using the Box Tops mobile app.

When planning events, don’t forget to check the calendar in the back hallway by room 9 for conflicts and enter your own events.  This is for events that involve use of the building and/or for a majority of the congregation.
