Sunday Hand Out Information 01-17-21

January 17, 2021

Lesson: “Following Through”  Speaker: Jeff Hill

Scripture: Judges 11:12-13

This week

The Christian Workers’ Meeting is this Tuesday beginning at 9:30 a.m. Everyone is welcome.  Guests can also join through  Zoom.

Sunday morning Class and Worship Service is being held in person as well as live-streamed. The number of those attending in person is well below the maximum number allowed by the city of Milwaukee for a building our size. You are welcome to join us. Masks are required indoors. As you enter the building please use hand sanitizer and pick up communion items before you go to your seat.  Families are spaced apart, there are no shared or passed materials, singing is recorded (you are welcome to hum along) and everyone is asked to exit the building once worship is finished.  Of course, if you are ill or have had recent contact with someone who is ill, please stay home. Evening worship is not being held at this time.

Events
Masks and other Covid precautions are upheld at all events.

Wednesday night Bible class at the building – 7 pm. A Study in the book of Psalms.  (Also available as a Zoom meeting)

Second Tuesday Hour of  Prayer meeting – January 12, 7 pm

The Christian Workers’ Meeting is planned for the third Tuesday of each month, 9:30 a.m. October through May. January 19.

First Tuesday Men’s Fellowship and Bible Study group  – February 2, 7:00 pm (no food served)

Prayer Meeting for 15 minutes: first Sunday of month  in the Fellowship Room 5 minutes after worship. (February 7)

The Fireside Theatre has decided to postpone the performance of Holiday Inn a year.  We are holding seats and reservations for December 11, 2021.  Please contact Sandie Copass to discuss.

Opportunities

Jeff Hill is looking for people to lead grief support groups over 13-week meetings.  Material is provided and support is available.

A phone call is a wonderfully personal way to connect with someone. The longer we are kept physically separated the more a friendly voice on the phone is appreciated.

The 2021 Southside budget has been completed.  A copy is posted on the bulletin board just outside the secretary office.  If you have any questions, please talk with Brad Stanger.

The Southside e-mail list is an automated mail list and is used for church related matters such as general announcements, prayer requests, the bulletin, and other items of interest to the congregation. If you have not been added to Google-groups and would like to be, contact the church office with your name and e-mail.  Please see Laurie Giombi for details.

When planning events, don’t forget to check the calendar in the back hallway by room 9 for conflicts and enter your own events.  This is for events that involve use of the building and/or for a majority of the congregation.

In order to allow an uninterrupted  live-stream of our worship, please do NOT connect any devices to the church Wi-Fi until the worship period is completely over.  Airplane mode for devices is recommended.
