This week

Today is First Sunday First Fruits.  Tables are set up in room 4.

Today, about 5 minutes after the worship, we are planning 15 minutes of prayer in the fellowship room for Southside.

A Caring Ministry meeting is planned today after morning worship.

The First Tuesday Men’s Fellowship and Study Group is Tuesday at the building at 6:30 p.m. with a meal preceding the study.  Please see Dan Giombi for details.

The Life Group which meets at the building on Wednesday evenings periodically has a potluck fellowship meal and is planning one this Wednesday Nov. 6 at 6:30 p.m. The invitation is open to everyone to join them.

A picture taking day is planned for Sunday November 10.  Is your picture on the board in the hall, or is it in need of an update?

Special Events

The next opportunity for AED/CPR/Narcan training is planned for Saturday, November 16 from 8:00-noon.  Cost is $45.  You can sign up at an entryway bulletin board or contact Karen Van Handel.

A Southside Family Meeting is planned for Sunday November 17 after morning worship with a sandwich potluck.  No evening service is planned for that day.

The annual Senior Dinner is planned for November 23. Someone is needed to take over the organization of the dinner beginning next year. Mari Pena has served for many years. Her youngest daughter, Melissa will be out of the Youth group next year, so Mari will be stepping down.

The next Boots on the Ground meeting is planned for Saturday November 23, 11:00 AM at the Hampton Ave church (5705 W. Hampton).  See Wayne Alexander for details.

The Brentwood church (6425 N 60th St.) has planned meetings of the Alzheimer’s Support Group, on selected Fridays at 6:00 p.m.  Please contact Linda Stanger if you plan to attend.  The next meeting is planned for December 6 – Caregivers break for the party.

We have an attended nursery for small children during morning worship periods in room 2.  We also have a training room at the rear of the auditorium where parents can stay with their little ones while worshiping.

A children’s worship is scheduled to begin near the start of the worship lesson time.  Children’s Worship is intended to provide a time of worship for children age 3 thru Grade 3 and to encourage families with children.

There’s a special group at Southside, of people who are ages 55 and older, called Club 55.  They hold fellowship events, things for other age groups, and service projects that reach out to Milwaukee and beyond.  See the Club 55 bulletin board for more information, or contact Linda Stanger at for more information.

Free CD’s of the Sunday morning sermons are available from Joel Ribar.  Be sure to specify the date desired.  MP3 copies of sermons are also available at the church web site.

The Library is open after classes and the worship period.  Don’t forget to return any overdue books to the library.  There is a book return box located in the entry way next to the picture board.

Life Group leaders; please contact the church office to update your current studies on the information Board.

When planning events, don’t forget to check the calendar in the back hallway by room 9 for conflicts and enter your own events.  This is for events that involve use of the building and/or for a majority of the congregation.

Southside has an email list that is used to send congregational news to those subscribed.  Please join us by emailing: ssidechurch-subscribe@yahoogroups.com from the email account you wish to receive at and stay up to date with everything happening at Southside.  This automated mail list is used for church related matters such as general announcements, prayer requests, the bulletin, and other items of interest to the congregation.  Please see Laurie Giombi for details.
