This week

Today is First Sunday First Fruits.  Tables are set up in room 4 for food items.

Today, about 5 minutes after the worship, we are planning 15 minutes of prayer in the fellowship room for Southside.

Evening worship for today is cancelled due to a wedding.

A time of prayer is planned for the second Tuesday of each month at the building, 7:00 p.m.

For those signed up for the Fireside Theatre in December, payment is now due to Sandie Copass.

Special Events

If you are interested in joining the Life Group that is working through the “No Debt, No Sweat Boot Camp!” there is still time!  Friday, September 28th is when the study began, going over chapters one and two of the “No Debt, No Sweat!” book. If you are still interested in joining, speak to Kevin Morrill.

The Christian Workers Meetings begin October 15th at 9 am and will meet on the third Tuesday’s in October through May.

Club 55 is sponsoring a guided tour of the Harley Davidson Museum on Saturday October 19, 10:00 a.m. (leaving the building at 9:30).  Cost is $18 (discounts for children) and signup is needed.  All are invited.

Ladies events that we have received invitations to are:
**Friday-Saturday October 18-19 at the Abby Resort in Lake Geneva (Waukesha church of Christ) “Abundant Grace for All Women” $90. per person plus lodging if desired.
** Saturday, October 19 – Midwest Church of Christ – (609 W. Center St. Milwaukee). Begins with lunch at noon – 3:00 pm – Theme:  Forgiveness and Healing.

Sunday October 20 after morning worship, brothers from Hampton are planning to be at Southside to describe their “Boots on the Ground” ministry involving mutual assistance in reaching our communities with the Gospel.  Lunch is also planned.

Fall Fest/Trunk or Treat is planned for Saturday, October 26, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.  Help is needed – trunk decorating, crafts, food prep, food donations.  Signup sheets are on the Youth bulletin board.  See Kevin for details or to help.

Family Bible Day is planned for Saturday, November 2, 10 am to 2 pm with lessons in Obedience, Repentance and Forgiveness through The Story of Jonah.  Help needed with registry, food, acting, carnival games, etc.  See Danny Giombi if you can help or for details.

There is a planning meeting for those participating in the Caring Ministry on Sunday, November 3rd after morning worship.

A second CPR, AED and Narcan use training will be held on November 16th in the afternoon.  Cost is $45 each for a class of six to eight.  Please let Karen Van Handel know if you are interested.

A Southside Family Meeting is planned for Sunday November 17 (date change) after morning worship with a sandwich potluck.  No evening service is planned for that day.

The Brentwood church (6425 N 60th St.) has planned meetings of the Alzheimer’s Support Group, on selected Fridays at 6:00 p.m.  Please contact Linda Stanger if you plan to attend.  The next meeting is planned for December 6 – Caregivers break for the party.

We have an attended nursery for small children during morning worship periods in room 2.  We also have a training room at the rear of the auditorium where parents can stay with their little ones while worshiping.

There’s a special group at Southside, of people who are ages 55 and older, called Club 55.  They hold fellowship events, things for other age groups, and service projects that reach out to Milwaukee and beyond.  See the Club 55 bulletin board for more information, or contact Linda Stanger at for more information.

Free CD’s of the Sunday morning sermons are available from Joel Ribar.  Be sure to specify the date desired.  MP3 copies of sermons are also available at the church web site.

Life Group leaders; please contact the church office to update your current studies on the information Board.

When planning events, don’t forget to check the calendar in the back hallway by room 9 for conflicts and enter your own events.  This is for events that involve use of the building and/or for a majority of the congregation.
