How do we understand God and ourselves in the midst of challenging times? We often want to know if God cares that we are suffering. Thoughts of not being good enough to deserve God’s care may fill us with sadness. The Psalm for scripture reading reminds us of the words of Jesus on the cross. Was he heard? Did God care?
