A meeting for Trunk or Treat/Fall Festival is planned today after worship.

Evening worship is planned for 6:00 p.m. today.

The Friday evening Life Group is moving to the building at 6:00 pm for the “No Debt, No Sweat! Money Boot Camp” seminar follow up.  Cost is $45 (help with cost is available) and all are welcome.  Please see Kevin Morrill for details.

The annual Southside Giveaway is planned for Saturday October 5 from 9 am to 1 pm.  Donations can be brought to the basement now.

 

Special Events

W.C.Y.C. Preachers Retreat is September 23 to 25 at Fall Hall Glen in Black River Falls.

Karen Van Handel is organizing a training class for CPR, AED and Narcan use to be held the morning of  September 28th. A second training will be held on November 16th in the afternoon.  Cost is $45 each for a class of six to eight.  Please let Karen know if you are interested.

The Brentwood church (6425 N 60th St.) has planned meetings of the Alzheimer’s Support Group, on selected Fridays at 6:00 p.m.  Please contact Linda Stanger if you plan to attend.  The next meeting is planned for October 4 – Holiday stress with your loved one
December 6 – Caregivers break for the party.

The annual Southside Giveaway is planned for Saturday October 5 from 9 am to 1 pm.  Donations can be brought to the basement and can include items such as clothing, toys, games, shoes, coats, hats, gloves, school supplies, furniture, small appliances, housewares, linens, baby items, etc. if clean, in good repair and immediately usable.  Help for sorting and set up is needed starting September 29.  Please see Denise Eppler for details.

The Christian Workers Meetings begin October 15th at 9 am and will meet on the third Tuesday’s in October through May.

Ladies events that we have received invitations to are:
**Friday-Saturday October 18-19 at the Abby Resort in Lake Geneva (Waukesha church of Christ) “Abundant Grace for All Women” $90. per person plus lodging if desired.
** Saturday, October 19 – Midwest Church of Christ – (609 W. Center St. Milwaukee). Begins with lunch at noon – 3:00 pm – Theme:  Forgiveness and Healing.

We have an attended nursery for small children during morning worship periods in room 2.  We also have a training room at the rear of the auditorium where parents can stay with their little ones while worshiping.

There’s a special group at Southside, of people who are ages 55 and older, called Club 55.  They hold fellowship events, things for other age groups, and service projects that reach out to Milwaukee and beyond.  See the Club 55 bulletin board for more information, or contact Linda Stanger at for more information.

Free CD’s of the Sunday morning sermons are available from Joel Ribar.  Be sure to specify the date desired.  MP3 copies of sermons are also available at the church web site.

Life Group leaders; please contact the church office to update your current studies on the information Board.

When planning events, don’t forget to check the calendar in the back hallway by room 9 for conflicts and enter your own events.  This is for events that involve use of the building and/or for a majority of the congregation.

Southside has an email list that is used to send congregational news to those subscribed.  Please join us by emailing: ssidechurch-subscribe@yahoogroups.com from the email account you wish to receive at and stay up to date with everything happening at Southside.  This automated mail list is used for church related matters such as general announcements, prayer requests, the bulletin, and other items of interest to the congregation.  Please see Laurie Giombi for details.
