We have an attended nursery for small children during morning worship periods in room 2. We also have a training room at the rear of the auditorium where parents can stay with their little ones while worshiping.
A children’s worship is scheduled to begin near the start of the worship lesson time. Children’s Worship is intended to provide a time of worship for children age 3 thru Grade 3 and to encourage families with children. Everyone is asked to begin worship in the auditorium (adults and children). Parents should accompany their smaller children to the basement as well as children who have not attended before. Before you return upstairs, be sure to indicate to the people at the door if you would prefer us to keep your young person till you return to get them or if it is alright to let them go after the adult worship is dismissed.
Free CD’s of the Sunday morning sermons are available from Joel Ribar. Be sure to specify the date desired. MP3 copies of sermons are also available at the church web site.
The Library is open after classes and the worship period. Don’t forget to return any overdue books to the library. There is a book return box located in the entry way next to the picture board.

Why Do We Pray
Why do we pray as a part of our relationship to God and what is this intended to accomplish?
Since we serve the living God (I Timothy 4:10), who knows our thoughts (Hebrews 4:12-13), we only need to direct our thoughts to God in order to pray. The living God wants to hear from us and for us to give him our anxiety (Philippians 4:6-7; I Peter 5:6-7). Even your smart speaker (such as Alexa) will not respond unless you ask its attention, and God is much the same.
In early times, some people, mainly those who were very righteous, spoke to God much like we would speak to another person. Some examples are Abraham (Genesis 18:1-33) and Moses (Exodus 33:11). Most of us pray somewhat like Jesus did (Matthew 26:36-46) although seldom with the same degree of faith. There are many examples throughout the Bible of people praying, both before and after the coming of the Christ.
Prayer can be made by one person (like Jesus often did), or in groups (Acts 12: 5, 12) as we often do in worship and in church meetings. In either case, a great deal can be accomplished using prayer (James 5:16-17).
Prayer can be used to request the intervention of God (Acts 12:1-5). It is more important than food distribution (Acts 6:1-4) and can help when making major decisions (Acts 14:23). Prayer is appropriate when rejoicing (I Thessalonians 3:9-10) just as much as when suffering (James 5:13).
Much like parents expect their children to talk with them about everything, God, our Father in heaven (Matthew 6:5-15), expects his spiritual children to talk with him about everything, from what we eat, to attacks by the devil. There are a number of places in the Bible where continual prayer (Philippians 1:3-5; I Thessalonians 5:16-18), is mentioned, as in a prayerful attitude knowing that we live before our Father, the living God. It is impossible to pray too much or to annoy God with sincere prayer.
