Inter-congregational Picnic -
The annual joint picnic of Milwaukee area churches will be at 11:00 a.m.,
this Saturday at Kletzsch Park instead of last Saturday.
New Attendance
Directory -
Cliff Copass has posted a tentative directory list of attendees at Southside
on the hall wall adjacent to room 9. Please check it and make corrections
and additions as necessary.
Camp Notes -
Alex Van Handel was chosen the best boy camper at the senior session of the
Wisconsin Christian Youth Camp. Of the eight best campers chosen during the
four sessions, three were from Southside. The other two were Rachel Orlovsky
and Chad Mudd. Congratulations to all of them.
Jim and Linda
Capitonoff
will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary at 3:30 p.m. at Southside on
Saturday, August 18th. All are invited to attend.
Moved -
Irma Wittlieff and her family have moved to Fond du Lac.
About a dozen
of our families are camping together this weekend at Blue Mound State Park.
In the spring
the elders asked our members to submit names of those men they believed to
be qualified to serve as elders. As a result the elders asked two men if
they would serve in that capacity. After time to reflect, both men declined
to serve. We hope to continue the search process as additional elders are
badly needed.

Our Educational
Program
A
major part of our educational program is our Sunday Bible school. For many
months Kevin Mahan has directed the classes, but because of the press of
other responsibilities he has asked to be relieved. Mark Orlovsky has
accepted the invitation of the elders to direct the program in the lower
grades. We greatly appreciate Kevin's faithful service, and Mark's
willingness to take over the responsibility.
We
want to express our appreciation to these individuals who are undertaking
the ministry of educating our young people in Sunday School. A sincere
thanks to those who have taught or who have been a faithful substitute. The
teachers for the fall trimester 2007 will be:
Cradle role:
Linda Stanger
2 & 3 year
olds: Michelle Walker & Leslie Benson
4 & 5 year
olds: Jennifer Koepke
1st & 2nd
grades: Danny Giombi & Mike Shuster
3rd & 4th
grades: Jan Alexander

time.

God Is Always
With You
As
a child I believed God was always there to take care of me. When I was in a
dark room or in a scary place, I felt God would take care of me.
As
I got older in my teens I still felt God's presence. But I felt he was
watching me to see if I was doing something wrong and that he was there to
make me feel guilty. I felt the same way about my dad.
One day I was leaving a basketball game, and I was very angry and driving
very fast. I lost control of my dad's car and hit another car. No one was
hurt; thank God, but I tore up my dad's car badly. I knew my dad was going
to be mad at me and really let me have it when he got there. My dad arrived
and he hugged me and said, "I am glad you are not hurt."
He wasn't mad
at all. Oh, I had to work and pay for the car to be fixed, but that is how
it should have been.
When you're down and you make some kind of big mistake, don't be afraid to
call on our heavenly Father. He will come to your rescue and put his arms
around you and say, "That's O.K., I still love you."
God will help you put your life back together.
