"The Balancing Act"
Have you struggled
with the issue of how to get everything done? How do you find balance in
your life between earning a living, family responsibilities, recreation, and
spiritual matters? If so, you will want to attend the seminar this weekend
at Southside conducted by Dale and Vicki Hawley. This is the same program
that was conducted successfully at the Labor Day Retreat at Fallhall Glen in
September. Dale and Vicki are well known at Southside which is Dale's home
congregation. He worked full-time with the congregation on two occasions for
a total of six years. His education includes undergraduate work at York
College and Abilene Christian University, a Master's Degree from Abilene,
and a Ph.D. in Family Social Service from the University of Minnesota. He is
currently Associate Professor in Human Development and Family Science at the
University of Wisconsin - Stout and serves as an elder of the Woodbury
Church of Christ in the Twin City area. He has conducted seminars at
Southside on several occasions in the past.
The program schedule
begins with a Friday night session at 6:45 p.m. followed by a session on
Saturday morning at 9:00 o'clock. On Sunday Dale will preach at both morning
services, and teach the combined adult classes at 10:00 a.m.
The Bulletin Board
Our Sympathy
is extended to the Dennis King family in the death of Dennis' father,
Wilford King, on February 11th. The funeral was at the Blessed Sacrament
Church Saturday morning. Mr. King was 92 years old.
Baptized -
We rejoice in the baptism of Kyle, Jered,
and Molly Giombi on Wednesday of last week. Their father, Danny, baptized
the three young people. May God bless them in their service to Him.
The Wisconsin
Christian Youth Camp Dinner and Silent Auction at Southside was well
attended last Saturday. Our thanks to a11 who worked so hard to make it a
success.
The annual Southside
Area-Wide Men's Breakfast will be at 9:00 a.m. March 11th. Barry Gainey,
preacher for the Hampton Avenue Church, will be the speaker.
Wayne Alexander
preached for the church in Fond du Lac last Sunday. Bobby Valentine will
preach this Sunday for the Monroe congregation.
The Sick
- Roger young has had complications following his recent surgery last week
at St. Mary's Hospital in Racine and as this is written is expecting
additional surgery this week....Kyle Giombi is recovering at home from
injuries following an auto accident Sunday afternoon .... Tony Benson
continues to be ill at home.

Two more College
Care Donation boxes are set up in the foyer with directions for making a
donation. Meagan Van Handel and Hotly Shilts will be the recipients. Boxes
will be shipped after Sunday, March 5"'. See Colleen Windell for
information.
A Marriage Enrichment
class is being offered on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 - 8:04 p.m. at the
church building from March 8 - April 26. The Alexanders will be facilitating
a class based on a book "The Intimate Mystery" with a strong emphasis on
God's plan/purpose for marriage based on Scripture. The classes will consist
of 6-8 classes on the Goal of Marriage. Topics will include Knowing who
we are as Husband and Wife, Leaving, Cleaving, and The Ultimate Loyalty.
There is a sign-up sheet on the Family Ministry bulletin board. The class
size will be limited so sign up early. For questions contact the Alexanders.
