22 SOUTHSIDE ORACLE August
5, 2005
The Bulletin Board
Baptized -
Magdaline Small
was baptized at the intermediate session of the Wisconsin Christian Youth
Camp on July 29P. We rejoice with Magdaline and her family in her decision
and pray that God will richly bless her.
Guest Speaker - We
will be honored Sunday with a guest speaker at our morning worship services.
He is Bob Hendron, an elder of the Magnolia Church of Christ in Florence, AL
who will be one of the speakers at the Lake Geneva Family Encampment. He has
been on the annual program of the encampment for many years. Our thanks to
Bobby Valentine for arranging to have him with us.
The car wash
sponsored by our "tweens" last Saturday was again a fine success. It has
several benefits beside the obvious car washes. It gives our youth an
opportunity to render service and it also helps to demonstrate to our
community that Southside is a body of Christians committed to service to
others.
Camp Notes - Our
group of senior campers and staff left Sunday for the senior session at
Fallhall Glen. Leonard I3itsworth is serving on staff-along with those
mentioned last week.
The Sick - Carolyn
Jones has gone to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN for diagnosis of
persistent abdominal pain .... Graydon Peterson, father of Karen Van Handel,
has been diagnosed with cancer .... Remember the sick in your prayers.

"If I Had Only Known.. "
Have you ever learned that a fellow Christian had a
serious problem only when it was too late to help? Perhaps it was an illness
or even a death. Perhaps it was a critical financial need. The person
affected may even have felt neglected because no one even extended sympathy.
Often the problem is one of communication - somehow the information was
never made known because the one involved did not properly communicate the
need.
We
need to do a better job of communicating our needs to one another. The
elders of the church want you to feel free to come to any one of them far
help. They are the spiritual shepherds of the congregation. Information
given to them will be held in confidence. Let your needs be known. Your
brothers and sisters are here to help.
