The Bulletin
Board
Baptized – We rejoiced at the end of worship Sunday evening when
Daniel Eppler was baptized by his father, Bill. May God bless him as he
begins his life with Christ.
Elder Search – The elders plan to begin a search for an additional
elder or elders in the fall. Since the moving of Dana McMillion to
Arkansas last month, the elders feel the need of a replacement to help
shepherd the flock. They ask our members to prayerfully consider those
who meet the biblical qualifications who might be chosen to fulfill the
responsibility.
The Sick – Elfriede Wandsnider is in West Allis Hospital following
surgery last week Thursday….Roger Young was released from St. Luke’s
Hospital last week, but apparently has a heart condition that will require
further attention….Ann Tevik was released from Elmbrook Hospital after a
brief hospitalization last week.
The Lake Geneva Family Encampment will be at Williams Bay August 9
– 13. This is open to families or individuals. Bobby Valentine will be
one of the speakers. If you are interested in attending, see the brochure
on the bulletin board.
Blood Drive – The Southside community blood drive will be Saturday
from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the church building. For additional
information, contact Trevona Parker.
Car Wash – Our tweens (pre-teens) will conduct a free car wash in the
parking area of the church Saturday from 9:00 to 2:00, the same hours as
the blood drive. If you would like your car washed, come at that time.

Do You Love God
As Much?
I watched my children at play on the floor. They had been separated
for several weeks. The youngest, who was three years old, had been
visiting an aunt for some time. And while she had been away a number of
people, wanting to be kind, had given her money. She had accumulated
quite a collection of coins – pennies, nickels, quarters, half dollars,
and even one big silver dollar.
Now she was showing her brother her possessions, telling him from whom she
had received each piece. The money was spread on the floor in front of
her. Then all of a sudden she seemed to realize that it wasn’t quite
fair. He didn’t have any. She carefully put a few coins into a pile and
shoved them toward him.
“There, you can have those.” She cocked her little head to one side as if
measuring the two piles. She shoved a few more coins toward him. It
seemed that her love for her brother knew no bounds. She gazed lovingly
into his eyes. The she did the unpredictable. Her hand swept the floor
again.
“Here, you can have them all!” And in that moment she had given him all
she had.
DO YOU LOVE GOD THAT MUCH?

Others See What
We Don’t
A
lady who was a great lover of flowers had set out a rare vine at the base
of a stone wall. It grew vigorously, yet she saw no blooms. Day after
day she cultivated it to coax it into blooming. One morning as she stood
disappointedly before it, her invalid neighbor, whose back adjoined hers,
called over and said, “You can’t imagine how much I have been enjoying the
blooms of that vine you planted!” The lady who owned the plant looked,
and on the other side of the wall was a mass of blooms. The vine had
crept through the crevices and flowered luxuriantly on the other side.
So often we think our efforts are thrown away
because we do not see their faults. We need to learn that in the service
of God our prayers, our toils and our crosses are never in vain.
Sometimes they bear fruit and hearts will receive blessings and joy from
our efforts.
