This Week

 

Today is First Sunday First Fruits.

 

We have three new adult Bible classes planned for this morning:

Hearing God's Voice (How to read the Bible) - Jeff Hill.

The Other World (Angels and spiritual forces) - Daryl Miller.

The Book of Deuteronomy - Wayne Alexander.

 

A wedding shower for Kayde Kemp and Brent Johnson (our youth intern last year) is planned for Saturday in Beloit Wisconsin.  Everyone is invited, but they need to know by Wednesday if you plan to come.   Please see the e-mail from Friday or Daryl for more information.

 

Prayer Requests

Brad Stanger asks prayers for his niece Hannah Stanger who has suffered from disabling migraines for six years.

 

Michael Shuster’s mother Alla is at risk for a more massive stroke but has limited treatment options.  She is quite ill with multiple problems including severe colonitis.

 

Barb Dawson was planning a hip replacement at St. Luke’s Hospital Thursday.

 

Pat Young is scheduled for leg surgery Friday.

 

Brian Williams’ mother was scheduled to have shoulder surgery Wednesday.

 

Scott and Christine Saunders request prayers for their unborn son who is at risk for major birth defects.

 

Others with health issues include: Monroe Hawley, Armando Vasquez, Carolyn Jones, Pearl Molla, Mark Van Handel, Rachel Orlovsky, Martha Sepulveda, Zak Giemza, Teresa Mattias, Russell Kleinhans, Pat Young’ sister Jannett, Allie Sturomski’s mom Sue Elias, Joel Ribar’s father Jacob Ribar, Marina Vara Alba’s uncle Erasmo Espinoza Jim Nichols’ mother Alice Anger, and Elfriede Wandsnider.

 

Coming up

The annual Mother Daughter Banquet is being planned for Friday May 7.  Please reserve the day on your calendars if you are interested.  The planning committee is scheduled to meet Sundays after second service on March 7, April 11 and April 25.  Please see Linda Stanger or Sandie Copass for details.

 

A men’s study series is planned for the first Tuesday of each month at the building at 6:30 p.m. for a meal preceding the study.  Please see Dan Giombi for details.

 

Remember the weekly Ladies’ Bible Class on Thursdays at the building at 10:00 a.m.

Collections for two college care packages are in progress.  These are for Adam Nichols and Alex Van Handel.  *Adam has a preference for any Axe shampoo, Old Spice body wash, Frosted Flakes cereal, Trident spearmint gum, Colgate whitening toothpaste, snack foods and G2 Gatorade powder.  *Alex has a preference for Garnier Fructis shampoo, Axe body soap, granola bars, Eclipse gum, pens, pencils, Wheat Thins, Crystal Light powder drink mix, low cut ankle socks and snack foods.  The packages are to ship after March 14.  Please see Nina Miller for more information.

Information

We have an attended nursery for small children at both morning worship periods in room 2.  We also have a training room at the rear of the auditorium where parents can stay with their little ones while worshipping.

 

Free CD's of the Sunday morning sermons are available from Joel Ribar.  Be sure to specify the date desired.  MP3 copies of sermons are also available at the church web site.

 

The Library is open immediately after each worship period.  Don’t forget to return any overdue books to the library.  There is a book return box located in the entry way next to the picture board.

Youth Announcements

Southside youth ministry exists to instill FAITH. We will: Form friendships,

Actively serve, Imitate Jesus, Tell others, & Honor God.

 

On March 14th during class time there is scheduled a planning meeting for the Youth Rally.

 

March 26th - 28th are the dates for this year’s South Side Youth Rally.  One of our biggest needs is housing.  Any help would be appreciated.
