WHO WE ARE

Southside's Youth Ministry is a ministry of the Southside Church of Christ serving the greater Milwaukee area. While the youth ministry's focus on young people grades 7-12 we also strive to minister to families and younger ages as well. Below is why we exist and a dream for our youth ministry. Be sure to check out the Southside homepage for more info about our church.

Why We Exist...

Southside youth ministry exists to instill FAITH. To make this simple to remember be break this down as follows:

F

orm friendships

Being with other Christians and sharing in our mutual love for God.

A

ctively serve

Meeting other’s physical, psychological, or social needs. (This includes people both saved & unsaved.)

I

mitate Jesus

Teaching people to live, think, and act like Jesus.

T

ell others

Sharing what Jesus has done for mankind (God’s plan for salvation) with those that don’t know it.

H

onor God

When love and reverence for God is intentionally and passionately shown.

While many of our activities have multiple purposes, the following are a few examples of this how we try to do each of these things.

I Have a Dream...

Hello, it's Daryl again. I want you to know a little about what I believe. The following is what my dream for what I hope to achieve with our youth ministry:

I see the youth ministry as part of the church which is the "family of God." I'd like a "family feel" to characterize our group. I want everyone to feel cared for & loved. I want the participants to feel that the youth group is a place where they can share their deepest joys & sorrows. I want the group members to develop at least two or three intimate, caring friendships. These friends would be the kind who would get out of bed at 1 a.m. if necessary to help in a crisis. I want new kids to feel at home in the group, where no one can distinguish the "in" group from the "out" because there isn't one.
