SPECIAL ACTIVITY

Saturday, July 12th & Sunday, July 13th, 2008

The Southside Church first met for worship on Sunday, March 2, 1958. (For a more detailed account of our history, see Southside's History page). Since 2008 marks the 50th anniversary of that meeting, we would like to invite all members, past and present, to attend a special homecoming celebration on Saturday, July 12th and Sunday July 13th. A detailed schedule is listed below. If you plan to attend, please contact us with the number attending and if you will need child care during the designated times so that we can make the proper food preparations and child care arrangements. 9:30 - 10:30 AM       CELEBRATION a welcome followed by songs, prayers, and scripture readings.

10:30 – 11:30 AM    THE SOUTHSIDE STORY- have various people tell the story of Southside’s history

11:30 - 12:00 PM     CELEBRATION- a welcome followed by songs, prayers, and scripture readings.

12:00 - 1:00 PM       LUNCH

1:00 – 1:30 PM        HONOR AND RECOGNITION- a time to remember those that that have served as elders, ministers, deacons, and Bible class teachers.

1:30 – 3:00 PM        WHAT SOUTHSIDE MEANS TO ME- a time for people to share their memories & stories of Southside.

3:00 – 4:30 PM        FELLOWSHIP- provide cookies and beverages and allow people to visit freely.

4:30 – 5:00 PM        CELEBRATION AND DREAMING- a time of worship & sharing our dreams for Southside’s future.

Childcare will be provided from 1:30 – 4:30 PM (preschool-4^th Grade)
