Sunday Hand Out Information 06-29-2025

Next week, we are planning to collect nonperishable food items for the First Sunday First Fruits program.  The food will be shared with those in need.  Please see Danny Giombi for details.

Please pick up a communion pack when coming into the auditorium if you will be joining with the Lord’s Supper.

Sunday morning Bible class is currently studying How Do We Read the Bible.  Wednesday evening Bible class is in Revelation.

Locks on the parking lot entrance doors have been replaced since they were worn out.  New keys are needed for them.  Please see Otto Mageland if you need a building key.

It is time for a directory update sheet.  If you have changes (email, phone, address, other) that need to be updated in the directory and did not appear in the handout, please send them to Cliff Copass.

Special Events

Samuel and Jennifer Naseem plan to be here July 6 to share about their educational work with children in rural Pakistan. A fellowship meal is planned follow the morning services with the following menu plans. Fried chicken is to be provided.  Please bring salads or veggie plates or fruit plates or desserts or bread or your favorite.  Please see Karen Williams if you can help with set up or clean up.

We plan to celebrate their marriage of Yubelka Jacamo and Nick Senstock with a potluck lunch on July 13 after services at 12:15 PM.  Main and side dishes will be needed, dessert (cake) will be provided.  Lisa Bane (414-416-6578) is coordinating, please contact Lisa before July 10.

The Hampton Ave. church 5705 W. Hampton Ave. is planning a Young Adult Revival, July 13 – 16 (see flyer on bulletin board) and VBS July 21-25 at 6:00 pm.

Southside is planning a Men’s Sheepshead and Game Night, Friday, July 25, 2025, 6pm, in the fellowship hall.  Come to play Sheepshead or bring your favorite game.  If possible, bring a favorite snack or beverage to share.  Contact Brad Stanger or Wayne Alexander with any questions.

Our next joint bilingual worship service is planned for Sunday August 10, 2025 with a potluck meal following.

WCYC 2025 camp dates: Senior June 29-July 12; Intermediate July 13-26; Junior July 27-August 2; Family August 2-6.  Scholarships are available for those needing financial help to attend – contact Brad Stanger.

Regular Events

The Thursday Morning Ladies’ Bible Class has closed down for the summer.

Color More Worry Less” is planned Thursdays at 6:30 p.m.  Please see Christine Saunders for details.

Mid-week study at the building, Wednesday, 7 pm.  A Zoom virtual meeting is also set up.

A time of prayer is planned for the second Tuesday of each month at the building, 7:00 p.m., and after morning worship on the first Sunday of each month.

The First Tuesday Men’s Fellowship and Study Group is planned for the first Tuesday of each month (Sept.-June), 6:30 pm, at the building with food.  Dan Giombi has details.

Opportunities

Additional help is needed for the periodic Red Cross Blood Drives for things like checking people in.  See Wayne Alexander if you are interested.

There is a sign-up sheet on the “Miscellaneous” bulletin board for mowing and trimming dates at the building.  Mower and tools are available at the building.  See Otto Mageland. 414-336-1007 for details.

There is a sign-up sheet on the Club 55 bulletin board for those interested in packing Stock Boxes for the Hunger Task Force.  A specific date is not yet selected but we need to find out how many are available on a weekday.

If you have printer cartridges to recycle, a box has been placed where you can put them and support Schultz Lewis Child and Family Services at the same time.  Funds are also being raised from “Box Top$ for Education” products when purchased and you scan your receipt with your smart phone using the Box Tops mobile app.

Reminders

When planning events, don’t forget to check the calendar in the back hallway by room 9 for conflicts and enter your own events.  This is for events that involve use of the building and/or for a majority of the congregation.

If you know someone who is getting married or having a baby, please let Sarah Borges, Lisa Bane (English/Spanish), or Rosio Gamino (English/Spanish) know.  Southside arranges a gift for first-time couples who are members of the Church and for the first child of members of the Church.
