Luke 1:46-56 & Isaiah 66:7-14
On any given week, we experience a variety of emotions. We can be happy in the morning, tired by lunch, and worried at night. This Sunday (5/8), we begin a new sermon series (Going Through the Emotions), kicking off with Gratitude for the life God gives us. The main text will be Isaiah 66:7-14, which includes some fitting imagery on a day we celebrate mothers: “As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you” (Isaiah 66:10a). Other emotions we’ll examine in the series are Guilt, Loneliness, Fear, Anger, Compassion, Joy, and Grief. I hope that by the end, we’ll have a biblical way to navigate our emotions, and an ability to worship God regardless of how we may be feeling.
