Today is First Sunday First Fruits. Tables are set up in room 4.
New adult classes begin today:
1. “Living in Two Worlds” dealing with challenges to the Christian Lifestyle in the face of the seductions of the world.
2. Southside Seminary – “History of Christianity” part 2
Today, about 5 minutes after the worship, we are planning 15 minutes of prayer time in the fellowship room.
Evening worship is 6:00 p.m. today.
The First Tuesday Men’s Fellowship and Study Group is Tuesday at the building at 6:30 p.m. beginning with a meal preceding the study.
Ladies – please sign up for the Southside Woman’s Day (Saturday September 14) by September 8 if you plan to attend.
Bruce and Karen Williams are hosting a Labor Day (September 2) chili dump at their house from 1:00 p.m. until dark. Drinks, hot dogs and fixings are provided; bring your favorite chili.
Two Ladies events at sister churches in the area this Saturday, September 7: Hampton Ave church: registration at 9:00 am with lunch at noon, “She’s Not Heavy, She’s My Sister”; and Mason Street church (Appleton) from 9:00 am, lunch at 11:45.

A Southside Woman’s Day is happening Saturday September 14 from 8:30 to 5:30 “I Am Not Alone as I Walk This Path” sign up on the bulletin board by Sept. 7, please. See Debbie Slaughter or Denise Eppler for more information.

**Saturday September 21 at Lakeview Church of Christ (Racine) from 10 to noon “Growing Old Gracefully”
**Friday-Saturday October 18-19 at the Abby Resort in Lake Geneva (Waukesha church of Christ) “Abundant Grace for All Women” $90. per person plus lodging if desired.
** Saturday, October 19 – Midwest Church of Christ – (609 W. Center St. Milwaukee). Begins with lunch at noon – 3:00 pm – Theme: Forgiveness and Healing.

W.C.Y.C. Preachers Retreat is September 23 to 25 at Fall Hall Glen in Black River Falls.
Karen Van Handel is organizing a training class for CPR, AED and Narcan use to be held September 28th. Cost is $45 each for a class of six to eight. Please let Karen know if you are interested.
The Brentwood church (6425 N 60th St.) has planned meetings of the Alzheimer’s Support Group, on selected Fridays at 6:00 p.m. Please contact Linda Stanger if you plan to attend. The next meeting is planned for October 4 – Holiday stress with your loved one
December 6 – Caregivers break for the party.

We have an attended nursery for small children during morning worship periods in room 2. We also have a training room at the rear of the auditorium where parents can stay with their little ones while worshiping.
There’s a special group at Southside, of people who are ages 55 and older, called Club 55. They hold fellowship events, things for other age groups, and service projects that reach out to Milwaukee and beyond. See the Club 55 bulletin board for more information, or contact Linda Stanger at for more information.
Free CD’s of the Sunday morning sermons are available from Joel Ribar. Be sure to specify the date desired. MP3 copies of sermons are also available at the church web site.

When planning events, don’t forget to check the calendar in the back hallway by room 9 for conflicts and enter your own events. This is for events that involve use of the building and/or for a majority of the congregation.
